Summer Session

2020 Summer Championship Program Information

DVTFC holds a summer session beginning mid-May (after the State Meet for high school athletes) for serious runners, jumpers and throwers who want to improve their track and field skills and compete in Junior Olympic qualifying meets in July.

We offer the full complement of USATF Youth events (sprints, jumps, hurdles, middle/long distance, shot, discus and javelin) for boys and girls ages 9 thru 16 under the guidance of our USATF Level 1 and 2 coaching staff.

We welcome serious athletes (elite or not) who want to work hard to improve. This session is NOT for brand new or inexperienced athletes.

Attendance at 2 practices a week is REQUIRED; attending 3 practices a week is ENCOURAGED.  Athletes are expected to focus on a couple of events.

Participation in the Championship/summer session requires DVTFC coaching approval. In addition, for all high school athletes, a parent must meet with the Coaches at the start of participation.

Practices will be held four days a week, most likely at PHMS and local area high schools.

DVTFC will participate in local meets, the PA Championship and Junior Olympic qualifiers. Any athlete wishing to qualify for National Junior Olympics MUST compete and qualify at both the Pacific Association and Region 14 qualifer meets.
