DVTFC holds a summer session beginning May 22 (later for in season high school athletes) for serious athletes who want to improve their track and field skills and compete in Junior Olympic qualifying meets in June and July.
We offer the full complement of USATF Youth events (sprints, jumps, hurdles, middle/long distance, relays, shot, discus and javelin) for boys and girls ages 9 thru 16 under the guidance of our USATF Level 1 and 2 coaching staff.
We welcome serious athletes (elite or not) who want to work hard to improve.
This session is generally NOT for brand new or inexperienced athletes (exceptions made based on coach approval)
Attendance at 2 practices a week is REQUIRED; attending 3 practices a week is ENCOURAGED. Athletes are expected to focus on a couple of events.
Participation in the Championship/summer session requires DVTFC coaching approval.
DVTFC will participate in the Tom Moore Youth Meet May 28-29, the Pacific Association Championship June 11-12 in Rancho Cordova, and the Region 16 Junior Olympic qualifier June 24-26 in Modesto. info about these meets can be found on the DVTFC 'Calendar' (NOTE: DVTFC will enter high school members in the Golden West Invitational June 4-5 in Rancho Cordova.) Any athlete wishing to qualify for National Junior Olympics MUST compete and finish in the top 5 at the Region 16 qualifier meet June 24-26 in Modesto.
2022 Registration/Fees (Tentative)
The Championship/Summer session fee is $400 for entire 8 week season and will be pro-rated for high school athletes based on start date.
There is an additional charge of $100 per athlete for qualifiers competing at the 2022 Junior Olympics to cover additional costs from the end of the Summer/Championship program through conclusion of Junior Olympics.
