DVTFC will provide a 7 week summer session (10 weeks for those who qualify & attend the Junior Olympics) beginning on May 20th for serious runners, jumpers and throwers who want to improve their track and field skills and compete in Junior Olympic qualifying meets in June and July. The 2018 Junior Olympics will be held in Greensboro, NC from July 23-29.
We offer the full complement of USATF Youth events (sprints, jumps, hurdles, middle/long distance, shot, discus and javelin) for boys and girls ages 9 thru 16 under the guidance of our USATF Level 1 and 2 coaching staff.
We welcome serious athletes (elite or not) who want to work hard to improve. This session is NOT for brand new or inexperienced athletes.
Attendance at 2 practices a week is REQUIRED; attending 3 practices a week is ENCOURAGED. Athletes are expected to focus on a couple of events.
Participation in the Championship/summer session requires DVTFC coaching approval. In addition, for all high school athletes, a parent must meet with the Coaches at the start of participation.
DVTFC will participate in the Central Valley TC Invitational meet, PA Championship and Junior Olympic qualifiers . Any athlete wishing to qualify for National Junior Olympics MUST compete and qualify at both the Pacific Association qualifier and the Region 14 meet. The Calendar lists all USATF Sumer meets DVTFC expects to attend.
The Championship/Summer session fee for new 2018 DVTFC members is $425 per athlete ($325 for additional sibling athletes). For high school athletes, the 2018 Summer session fee is $350. There is an additional charge of $100 per athlete for ALL athletes that qualify and decide to attend the 2018 Junior Olympics in Greensboro.
