Mini-meets

 

 

2010 Practice/Mini Meets

Each year, our club holds mini-meets early in the season to familiarize our athletes with how a track meet is conducted.  It is also a good opportunity to establish baseline times and distances for improving personal records during the season.  

In 2010, mini-meets TENTATIVELY will be held March 20 (1pm - 4pm) and April 24 (1pm - 4pm) at Acalanes High School.   There are usually one or two other USATF teams from the Bay Area invited to participate.

The atmosphere of the mini-meets is instructional and informal, however, there will be an official starter, timing/measuring, age-group placing and ribbons awarded.  DVTFC parents volunteer to perform essential tasks such as lane timing, measuring throws, raking the long-jump pit, and recording times and places.  Parents are required to work at least one mini-meet during the season and will be charged $50 if they choose not to volunteer.

Track Events Field Events (run continuously)
100 meters Long jump
Hurdles (if needed) Shot put, followed by Discus
Race Walk (800 and 1500 meters) Turbo Javelin
800 meters
4x100 meter relay
400 meters
1500 meters
200 meters
4x400 meter relay

Directions to Acalanes High School Track

Take Highway 24 to Pleasant Hill Road exit and go north.  Turn right at first light on Stanley Blvd.  Acalanes High School is immediately on your left.
